Day Three

WWF Title Fatal Four Way Elimination Match
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart vs. Undertaker vs. Vader

WWF In Your House 13: Final Four

I didn't need to rewatch the match but I did need to do a little refreshing on the storyline.

Controversy erupted in the '97 Rumble. Bret Hart eliminated Austin but the refs didn't see the elimination. Austin re-entered the match and eliminated all three en route to winning the Rumble. Hart, Vader, and Taker have a rightful gripe. In the aftermath of the Rumble came Shawn Michaels famous "I lost my smile" promo where he vacated the WWF Title, leaving the title vacated. With the title vacant, the Rumble finish in question, this match was made to settle things.

With the backstory, the match goes exactly as expected. The four men go to war from bell to bell. The four beat the shit each other and took full advantage of the No DQ nature of the stipulation. Vader gets hardway-ed early on from a chair. He bleeds like crazy and his eye swells shut. The Mastodon never stops though, continuing to be the wrecking ball on legs he always was.

There's not much else to this match as it is just one big wild brawl. I do have to mention Bret Hart for a moment. Vader, Austin, and Taker are happy to take big bumps and spots but Hart isn't. In fact I'm pretty sure he barely bumps throughout the entire match.

That doesn't take anything away from the match through. It mixes action and story really well. The crowds into this and the star powers incredible. Kinda of a lost gem in WWEs vast catalogue but absolutely one you should seek out.
