Day 12 2022

PWG World Championship Fatal Four Way Match

Low Ki vs. Necro Butcher vs. Chris Hero (c) vs. Eddie Kingston

PWG All-Star Weekend 7 Night 1

Not many people would think to put four of the most violent men in mid-2000s Indy wrestling in one match. But Super Dragon is insane in own right so it makes total sense that it happened in PWG of all places.

Post-introductions, Eddie snatches the belt and bails to the commentary desk shaped like a table. Once he returns to the ring, he shit talks his opponents and pays for it with a chop from Hero, a punch from Necro, and a chop from Low Ki. This time he actually bails, like he leaves the building.

Necro tries to retrieve Eddie but security won’t let him outside for fear of a potential lawsuit. Hero and Ki ignore the chaos and just wrestle. Like until Eddie and Necro re-join the fray they just have a solid Hero/Ki match. Eddie and Necro do re-join the fray however and we settle into a groove. The ring is a revolving door of the four men just being stiff and violent.  Eddie constantly tries to keep the match one-on-one which just further proves he’s the smartest man in this match.

This was a really good match but it definitely felt handicapped. Like there’s plenty of what you expect, stiff shots and crowd brawling and such but it’s also like a sanitized version of what you’d expect. It’s like violent but with TV standards in mind or something. Still it’s an enjoyable brawl and really that’s all you can ask from these fours.
